NINELIVESCylin Busby’s new MG novel, The Nine Lives of Jacob TIbbs, has received two starred reviews so far (from SLJ and Booklist) and was just picked as an Amazon “Best Book of the Month.” Thank you to all the wonderful supportive SCBWI members!


Running Out of Night, by Sharon Lovejoy, is a nominee for the 2015-2016 Dorothy Canfield Fisher (DCF) Children’s Book Award, 2015-2016 Great Stone Face Book Award, New Mexico’s Land of Enchantment Book Award, and Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Awards 2016-2017.


KiteAlexis O’Neill’s book, The Kite That Bridged Two Nations, an SCBWI Crystal Kite winner in 2014, has been nominated for a California Young Reader Medal Award in the Picture Books for Older Readers category. Kids will be able to vote on it in the next school year, 2016-2017.




An Ambush of Tigers, by Betsy Rosenthal, is a 2016 ALA Notable Children’s Book, a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award bronze medal winner, a 2015 Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Award winner, received a Huffington Post Best Children’s Books 2015 honorable mention, and is a recipient of three starred reviews.



chopstickcoverWon Ton And Chopstick, by Lee Wardlaw (Holt BFYR; illustrated by Eugene Yelchin), has won the 2015 Booksource Scout Award for Best Children’s Poetry Book. It has also been nominated for the 2016 Dog Writers’ Association of America  “Maxwell” Award for Best Children’s Book.
