Living Fossils: Clues to the Past by Caroline Arnold, is a 2016 CRA Silver Eureka Award winner and on the NYPL Recommends: New Nonfiction for Kids List, Bibliofile July 15, 2016.
“The Apple of Discord,” a poem by Kate Hovey from Voices of The Trojan War, published by Margaret K. McElderry Books, was selected for inclusion in Collections, a new middle grade textbook published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Hovey’s essay, “Ancient Voices: Bringing the Greeks to Life for Grades K-12,” appears in the anthology Women Versed In Myth, published this year by McFarland and Company.
Patrice Karst is thrilled to announce that The Invisible String has now sold over 200,000 copies and is in its 21st printing. With currently 514 reviews on Amazon, String is being used by school districts, hospitals, funeral homes, the military, therapists, divorce attorneys, hospices, and anywhere that children need to be reminded that we are forever connected to those that we love!
Ennara and the Book of Shadows, by Angela Shelley, received a silver medal at the 2016 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards for best pre-teen e-book.
Whispers of the Wolf, by Pauline Ts’o, received an ALA Booklist starred review and was a 2016 NM-AZ Book Award winner (Children’s Picture Books), 2016 Skipping Stones Honor Awards winner (Multicultural), 2016 IBPA Benjamin Franklin finalist (Best New Voice), 2015 Midwest Book Award finalist (Illustration), and 2015 MPIBA Reading the West short list nominee (Children’s).
The Midnight War of Mateo Martinez, by Robin Yardi, was included on The New York Public Library’s 100 Best Books for Kids List, the Kirkus Reviews Best of 2016 list, and was honored with a Gold Moonbeam Award!
