Hatching Chicks in Room 6 by Caroline Arnold was named a 2017 Eureka! Honor book by the California Reading Association. The Eureka! awards are for excellence in nonfiction.
Anni’s Attic by Anne Loader McGee has won the International Peace Keeping Award, 1st place in the 2017 Purple Dragonfly Children’s Book Award, and a Bronze Medal in the 2017 Moonbeam Children’s Book Award.
The Mystery Beneath Midville Museum (Book Three in the Cedar Creek Mystery Series), also by Anne Loader McGee, won an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Purple Dragonfly Children’s Book Awards.
Take a Picture of Me, James VanDerZee! by Andrea J. Loney is a recipient of two starred reviews, a Junior Library Guild Fall 2017 selection, a winner of the 2017 Eureka! Gold Award for Nonfiction from the California Reading Association, and a nominee for the 49th NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work – Children.
Mama Loves You So by Terry Pierce is listed on Amazon’s Editors’ Picks for “Best Children’s Books of 2017 so far” (Baby-Age 2 Category).
After 25+ years of working toward the goal of selling a significant piece of writing, Karol Ruth Silverstein sold her YA novel Cursed to Charlebridge Teen. Look for it in 2019. Don’t quit before the miracle!
Answering the Cry For Freedom: Stories Of African Americans and the American Revolution by Gretchen Woelfle received a Carter G. Woodson Honor Award from the National Council of Social Studies.
