Into the Woods: May 4-6, 2018
Our weekend writer’s retreat sold out in one week! YA and middle-grade writers will gather in scenic Idyllwild to spruce up their manuscripts with the guidance of professionals. And what better theme for this year than “Into the Woods?” Attendees will participate in four critique-group sessions led by an editor, agent, or published author, hear speaker presentations on the craft of writing, and mingle during meals and a happy hour.
Our faculty includes:
Lin Oliver: Co-founder of SCBWI & author of the Who Shrunk Daniel Funk series and co-author of the Hank Zipzer series, among other books
Nancy Mercado: Editorial Director at Scholastic Press
Jennifer March Soloway: Associate Agent for Andrea Brown Literary
Michael Mahin: Author of Muddy: The Story of Muddy Waters
Surprise Guest Steve Bramucci: Author of The Danger Gang and the Pirates of Borneo
This three-day, two-night retreat includes lodging, meals, critique groups, speaker presentations, a sunrise hike, and writing time. Because we want to keep the critique groups cozy, we restricted the number of attendees to 28. Attendees can also get a professional written critique of up to 10 pages of their manuscript before the conference.
DATES: May 4-6, Friday at 1:00 PM to Sunday at 12:00 PM
LOCATION: Tahquitz Pines in Idyllwild, California, 55251 South Circle Dr., Idyllwild, CA 92549
We are sorry, but registration is currently closed. Stay tuned for our annual retreat next year.
