The seasons are changing—at Kite Tales, too.
Jessica Chrysler and Noel Csermak, two stalwart SCBWI Tri-Region volunteers, have recently stepped away from their respective long-time roles as KT’s managing editor and proofreader. If you’ve enjoyed the blog in recent years (as we know so many of you have!), they are two major reasons why.
Kite Tales serves as a public voice for the chapters and members of three California regions, and Jessica and Noel have been attentive to our many voices, ensuring that our events and stories were represented, celebrated, and crystal clear.
As they turn over the keys to us, we two KT newbies join with the regional leadership to recognize Jessica’s and Noel’s careful, caring, committed, and editorially creative work—and to wish them well. We also add our personal thanks for the training and support that made our initial learning curve a little less steep and a little more fun.
Thank you, Jessica! Thank you, Noel!
To our readers: Things may not look exactly the same around here, but rest assured there is more great KT content on the way and we can’t wait to share it with you. We also invite you to leave a comment below about the kinds of content you enjoy reading. Your input can help us ensure that Kite Tales continues to be an inclusive, empowering place for our local kidlit community.
If you’re interested in writing for Kite Tales, send us a note at scbwila.editor@gmail.com. If you’d like to join the Kite Tales team, we’re currently accepting applications for a proofreader. Please download and fill out a volunteer form, then email the completed form to losangeles@scbwi.org.
